ELD Review and Update

By the time our February meeting gets here, we'll almost be 2 months into the new Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance mandate.  As with any regulatory change of this magnitude, there are many hurdles to jump during the initial start-up period.  Considering the exceptions, exemptions, grace period, and other recent activity, this meeting may be one of the most important meetings you might attend this year.

It is our priviledge to have as our gues speaker, agents from the Alabama FMCSA division office and officers from our ALEA Motor Carrier Safety Unit.  While we as an industry have been adjusting to the new requirements, enforcement personnel have also been working through some of the same battles.  Our speakers will be able to bring us current information regarding the latest updates and enforcement issues they are seeing during compliance reviews and roadside inspections.
